ASHLAND, Ore— The Southern Oregon Raiders are reloading after losing five seniors from the 2019 squad. On Friday, the Raiders announced an 8-player 2020 recruiting class that will bolster a group of 11 returners. 

“This is one of the deepest groups of signees we’ve ever had,” head coach Josh Rohlfing said. “This is one of the deepest groups of signees we’ve ever had. That says a lot for our program, and the immediate future is very, very bright.”

The eight players that will join the 2020 Raiders:

Simone Gordon- 6-0, OH/MB, Portland, Ore./ Portland Christian Hight School/ Conordia U. (Ore.)

Taylor Jackson- 5-10, OPP, Tacoma, Wash./ Bellarmine Prep School

Kayla Neidigh- 5-4, DS, Salem, Ore./ West Salem High School

Karina Oliveira, 5-5, DS, Salto São Paulo, Brazil / EE Major Arcy / Barton County CC (Kan.)

Taylin Rowley, 5-10, S/OH, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho / Coeur d’Alene High School

Taylor Russell, 5-9, S, Roseburg, Ore. / Roseburg High School / Lane CC

Gwen Sheldon, 5-8, S, Loveland, Colo. / Thompson Valley High School / Laramie County CC (Wyo.)

Hailey Van Well, 5-11, OH, Dallas, Ore. / Dallas High School

The group will look to support All-American middles Elliot Cook and Makayla Hoyt. Both middles will be entering their final seasons for the Raiders. 

The Raiders come off two straight top-10 national finishes. Southern Oregon finished 31-5 in 2019, winning the Cascade Conference regular season and tournament championships.
